Our favorite negative calorie food- two ways to cook cabbage - Slow Cooker OR Instant Pot

One of our favorite vegetables to eat is cabbage. In fact, this little negative calorie gem has been the main dish at many Meatless Monday dinners. Yep, just cabbages and it's close friend Black-Eyed Peas. I have a feeling that a few of you, who are not in the southern part of the US, may be saying "what?1!. Yes, for me and my family, those two veggies are on our plates at least once a month, not once a year. I know that many people may only eat that combination on New Year's Day. However, we love it so much that it's a year round thing for us. Cabbage has so many AMAZING nutritional properties that it's easy for us to eat it several times a month.

Although according to some experts cabbage is best when eaten raw, we enjoy it more cooked.

Here is my favorite way to cook our little green head of yumminess:
Slice the cabbage in half and then chop the slices into small pieces. Add to the crock of a Slow Cooker. Cut a stick of REAL Unsalted Butter (no fake stuff) into pats and place on top of the cabbage. Add 1 TBSP of Garlic Pepper (of course, y'all know I'm using the Tastefully Simple brand) and place the lid on the crock.

Cook on low for about 6 hours. You will have the most tender, melt in your mouth cabbage EVER.

If you don't have 6 hours to wait, then you can use an Instant Pot. I did the same thing putting it in the Pot. Manual High Pressure for 5 mins. It took a little over 13 mins after I pushed the button.
