Cowboy Casserole

This is always a go to dish in our house, when we are 1) in a hurry and 2) want a filling meal that will stick with us. I have posted this recipe before when we were leaving in hotels. It's paired with the hotel spaghetti. You can search for it using "casserole". It tells you a great way to cook a full meal staying at hotels with stove tops. OR better yet, just take your Ground Beef bags with you and save a step ;) If you don't know what that is then simply type "Quick meals with Ground Beef" in the search bar on the front page of the Blog.

I did use a frozen bag tonight, so I skipped the browning the ground beef step since it was already done. I basically walked in the kitchen, turned my oven on 350 to Pre-heat, grab the ingredients and started assembling the casserole. By the time the oven beeped, I was ready to put the dish in the oven. Took me 6 minutes! Now just waiting the 30 minute cook time, doing other things.

1 lb of Ground Beef
1 TBSP Onion Onion
1 tsp Seasoned Salt
1 can 28oz Baked Beans (I like Bush's)
about 1/2 bottle of BBQ sauce (use one of our Spring/Summer ones or your favorite brand)
1 can of crescent rolls or refrigerated biscuits

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown ground beef with Onion Onion and Seasoned Salt in a skillet and then drain. In a 9x13 casserole dish, mix beef, beans and BBQ sauce together in dish. Open the can and flatten each one in your hands then lay on top of the casserole. Bake for 30 mins.

Yes, it is THAT easy and it's WONDERFUL! Again, I used a Ground Beef bag and was in the kitchen 6 minutes, but more importantly I don't have to wash a skillet ;) The casserole dish can go in the dishwasher.
