Slow Cooker Apple Butter

SO glad that Warm Up Mulling Spice is back in the Fall Winter line. My family has been missing us some homemade Apple Butter. Here is the recipe from fellow DnB'r Cheri Key Burke. It's AWESOME and keeps for a while in the fridge. Best to use red apples (we like Rome) make it with the honey, not sugar, and let it cook overnight. Smear on anything from Biscuits, Pancakes/Waffles, Toast, Ice Cream OR dollop over Pork Chops or Ham and bake OR just eat it with a spoon :D

Ingredients
5 lbs. apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
3/4 cup honey
- or - 1 cup sugar
1/4 cup Warm Up!™ Mulling Spice

Directions
Place the apples in a slow cooker. Combine next two ingredients; pour over apples and mix well. Cover and cook on high 1 hour.

Reduce heat to low and cook 9 to 11 hours, or overnight, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thickened and dark brown.

Uncover and continue cooking on low 1 hour. Stir with a whisk, if desired, to increase smoothness.

Serve hot over waffles, biscuits, or Apple Empanadas. Yields 5 cups.
