Quick Meals with Ground Beef

Do you buy the Family Packs of Ground Beef at the store and then Freeze them? 
Use the Family Packs of Ground Beef—5 pounds or more. Cook the ground beef with 1TBSP Onion Onion and 1 tsp Seasoned Salt per pound. Drain browned ground beef set aside to cool. Put cooked ground beef into quart sized freezer bags. Fill them about 2/3 will be equivalent to 1LB. You can also put them in Ziploc Containers, if you don't want to use bags. It will be 1LB when you pack full a 2 cup round one and it will be 1 1/2 LB when you lose fill the 4 cup one up to about the curved lip part.
You can store them in the fridge for 4-5 days & you can freeze them for up to 4 months. You can thaw them in the microwave by opening the seal and cooking it for about 1 min on high. Remember you just need it crumbly again, it will warm when added to whatever your cooking. This saves TONS of time when cooking, since it takes about 15-20 mins to brown beef.
Here is a great informational article on Ground Beef. It will ease some of your minds about being frugal, like me, and buying 80/20 meat instead of the super lean that's like $5/lb. It shows the weight conversion too. Remember that 1 LB of Raw Meat will not be 1LB of cooked meat. So your GB bags will weigh less than a LB. 80/20 will be 11 1/2 oz and 70/30 will be 11oz.

Recipe Ideas for using your Ground Beef Bags:
Fiesta Chili -- 30 minutes start to table (S-T)
Empty 1 bag of ground beef in large skillet. Mix in 1 jar Corn Black Bean Salsa, 15 oz can tomato sauce, 3 Tbsp sour cream—make spicy by adding 1 Tbsp Fiesta Party Dip Mix. Simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with Fritos.
Hamburger & Noodle Skillet Dinner – 20 minutes S-T
Boil 4 cups egg noodles. Put 1 bag of 1 lb ground beef in large skillet. Mix in 1 Tbsp Garlic Garlic, 1 Tbsp Onion Onion, 1 tsp. Seasoned Salt, 1 tsp black pepper, a can of cream of chicken OR mushroom soup, ½ cup sour cream, ¾ cup milk, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, cooked egg noodles. Heat through. Add 1 tsp Garlic Garlic to ½ stick of butter and melt in microwave. Dip bread slices in butter. Broil for 3 minutes or brown
Simple Sloppy Joes— 30 minutes S-T
Empty 1 bag of ground beef in a medium skillet on High heat. Stir in 1 tsp Mustard, ¾ cup ketchup, 1 tsp Seasoned Salt and 1 Tbsp brown sugar; mix thoroughly. Reduce heat and simmer 30 mins. Serve on buns.
Smokey Cowboy Casserole-15 minutes S-T
Combine ground beef, 28 oz can baked beans and ½ cup BBQ sauce; mix well and place in greased 8 x 8 baking dish. In a medium bowl combine ½ cup Bisquick, ½ cup milk and 1 TBSP Garlic Garlic and stir together. Dollop the dough mixture over the ground beef. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes. Makes 4-5 servings.

Beef Taco Bake30 minutes S-T

Combine 1 cup Corn, Black Bean Salsa, 10.75 oz. can tomato soup, ½ cup milk, 6 flour tortillas (cut into 1-inch squares), 1 lb. browned, drained ground beef and ½ cup Cheddar cheese. Spoon into greased 2-quart shallow baking pan; cover. Bake at 400° for 30 minutes; sprinkle with ½ cup cheese. Makes 4 servings.
Quick Homemade Spaghetti-30 minutes S-T
Combine in a medium saucepan 1 bag of ground beef, 2TBSP Sugar, 4TBSP Dried Tomato and Garlic Pesto, 29 oz can tomato sauce, can of Cream of Mushroom Soup. Simmer 30 minutes. Boil pasta while sauce simmers. Add 1 tsp Garlic Garlic to ½ stick of butter and melt in microwave. Dip bread slices in butter. Broil for 3 minutes or brown. Serve with Parm. Cheese.
Other quick ideas with Corn Black Bean Salsa and your bags of beef:

Combine ½ jar of Corn Black Bean Salsa, ½ cup shredded cheese and 1 bag beef. Microwave 1 minute.
--dip with Scoops
--spoon over tortilla chips for nachos
--use as a filling for tortilla wraps
--top a salad or baked potato
--add to eggs while scrambling
-- put over Garlic Bread for open face sandwich
